Food for workers starving in Pakistan due to COVID

Mrs.Najma

Was deeply touched this morning. Our team was divided all over the city and province, eager to distribute rations before curfew began. Was busy praying we would make it to recipients before the rangers stopped us as Fridays are always tense because curfews begin at noon. Then, Mrs. Najma made us pause as she kindly posed for this photograph as we were about to give her the box from one of our vehicles and she from her deepest heart, gave her blessings. She has seven people in her family and sells car cleaning cloths at traffic lights to earn a living. She accepted this as Zakat. With this lockdown, she is facing tough straits. But, despite it all, she wanted to bless us and give the greatest gift of all, her well wishes. Her family is the 138th recipient of #LF1000 the LADIESFUND™ 1000 Families Rations pledge.

Meet 80 year old widow Haseena, who has no living relatives or family. She owns two goats and sells milk for a living. The villagers of Borli Sameja, Thar, try to help her. She has no other source of income and accepted this as Zakat. Haseena is the 654th recipient of the LADIESFUND 1000 Families Ration Fund. Thank you to LADIESFUND 2016 Momentum Award winner Simi Kamal for personally ensuring 100 deserving families received ration boxes in Thar. God bless her. Meet Sana, who you would usually meet at a traffic signal in Karachi. She is one of the invisible members of this city – a transgender, one who few people would agree to help. She and her family were the 149th recipient of the LADIESFUND 1000 Families Drive #LF1000. She has not received any incoming funds for 3 months; she and her loved ones and dependents were very touched to receive help from LADIESFUND- Dawood Global Foundation. Here, she shares her story. She accepted this as Zakat. LADIESFUND 2008 Award winner Sheema Kermani as part of #LF1000 personally gave a box to Sana.
